Some History About Me

As a photojournalist for 20 years traveling and photographing events all throughout the United States and abroad,  I have received numerous awards for my photography of political and sporting events.  A few of my awards were for the Clinton Inauguration and the Pacific American Games.  My photographs of the PAN-AM games have been displayed in museums internationally with a permanent exhibit in the National Museum of Japan.  Many of my photographs have been made into greeting cards, calendars, and posters.

Capturing the Charm of the Moment

My passion is photographing people, especially couples.  I enjoy shooting in both casual and formal forms.  I use b&w and color formats, but I especially love the b&w stylistic approach.  I find that b&w captures the subtleties of light, changing the mood of the moment in a way that is different from color.   I also like to use traditional color photography to capture those timeless moments and bring to life those precious memories – the ceremony, the kiss, the bouquet, the style.   At Donatel Studios our specialty is in offering both traditional and candid approaches to wedding photography and video.
